vocal training
When 4-year-old Johanna brought a song to life with her bold moves at an open-air concert at Kiek in de Kök, her family members began to suspect that this could become her way of life. At the age of seven, encouraged by her city grandmother, Johanna wrote her first poems, which were published in Eesti Ekspress. This marked the beginning of her songwriting journey.

Since 2018, Johanna has been actively working as a freelance musician. She has created solo projects, performed as a duo with Jaanus Saks, and, since the summer of 2023, has been the lead vocalist of the band Põhja-Tallinn. As a singer, Johanna has collaborated with several well-known Estonian musicians, including Artjom Savitski, composer Tauno Aints, indie band Around The Sun, and rappers AG and Jaanus Saks.
Johanna earned her musical education at Tallinn University, studying at the Baltic Film, Media, and Arts School in the IKUMUMU program, and furthered her studies in music production at the Tallinn School of Music and Ballet. She has been mentored in pop singing by Jakko Maltis and Bert Pringi and in classical singing by Vaike Kiik-Salupere.
If the main character in Johanna’s favorite animated film Ratatouille found encouragement in chef Gusteau’s words, “Anyone can cook!”, then Johanna herself inspires people to unleash their inner artist with the words, “Anyone can sing!”
